  just watched a program about the reverence japanese people have for cherry blossom.

  they love it and consider the sakura cherry tree sacred.

  Just watched a program about the reverence Japanese people have for cherry blossom. They love it and consider the Sakura cherry tree sacred. Two indications eight there, "reverence" ,"sacred". I can see a pattern emerging.

  One of the practises it is reported in the hanami (flower viewing) picnic where people sit under th trees drinking sake and getting wasted.

  So, it sound like fun. The question is, would visiting GB members join in? Is it a big no-no in Japanese congregations?

  I can only imagine. not having any local knowledge, that the odds don't look good. The annualness of the l celebration, the extreme fun, the long tradition involved don't bode well. I think heads will be shaken, noses looked down and the carpet to the little room at back of the further worn down. Does any one know?

  i have come across several official reel to reel magnetic tape recordings of material from i think the 1958 international convention at yankee stadium and polo grounds nyc.

  the speakers are knorr and franz.

  i have no machinery to play these but love them or loathe them, they are history.

  I have no machinery to play these but love them or loathe them, they are history. There may be very interesting and valuable clips to extract for anyone who is willing to wade through the garbage.

  as one who has followed your contribution over many years my heart goes out to you. You and Joe have been steadfast advocates of truth against “the truth” and have improved countless lives.

  We have experienced this kind of illness in our family and whilst nobody can really know how it’s been for you but I do get it.

  You have given all you have to uncovering hard facts over the years and just as much to caring for Joe.

  Thank you for all that you’ve done. Try to smile about the good times and be happy about what you have accomplished together. You did good.

  The GB face an unenviable situation. The power of being "disfellowshipped" has been immense. The very word put shivers down the spine. The taboo of avoiding disfellowshipped "ones" (not even described as people) was deep and an immense one.

  Suddenly, these untouchable, unspeakably infectious people can be greeted, you can phone them to invite them to a meeting. The taboo ballon is popped, they are just people again. Even the dreaded word disfellowship has gone, in the mind of Joe publisher so has the status of untouchable.

  So the cat is out of the bag, the mystique has gone, the GB has swung and missed. They have watered down their principles and got no reward. What a massive failure of judgement, what a huge loss of face and power. The chariot seems to have developed a puncture.

  Wow! Really wow! This analysis of the issue is absolutely sound. In it's clear point by point dissection of all that has been said, all the puff and false references to god's mercy and tear stained heart wringing, it gets right to the point.

  There have been countless critiques of all this on so many ranting YouTube channels all quite rightly breathless with outrage. This response beats them all. I think it's unanswerable.

  i know we get a bit cynical and hard boiled about the exploits of wt inc. but this takes the biscuit.

  apparently these ecuadorian indigenous people objected to being targeted by the sect.

  so wt inc rode in and guess what?

  "Your Donations have Power" made much of this litigation along with building projects etc. There was no mention of the very significant sums spent in aggressive and expensive litigation relating to CSA. Surely this is relevant in any discussion about the use of donations.

  Is it not reasonable for those making the donations to have access to some unfiltered information as to what their money is buying?

  I know we get a bit cynical and hard boiled about the exploits of WT Inc. but this takes the biscuit. Apparently these Ecuadorian indigenous people objected to being targeted by the sect. So WT inc rode in and guess what? They beat them in court. Apparently these people were surprised that there was a big organisation behind this small cong they felt was at fault. They learned the lesson, don't f*ck with us.

  That is bad enough but the meeting this week brags about it as good use of donated funds. Somehow they didn't mention all the millions spent in making CSA cases go away. Incredible hypocrisy.

  The answers in the meeting completely misunderstood the video thinking the WT had acted on behalf of the indigenous people. Cognitive dissonance made them mishear or misinterpret the facts.

  It's finally dropped about a week late. Counts as breaking news I suppose.

  It was a horrible event. People in built up towns sitting in traffic jams were just inundated, swept away and drowned by flash floods. Pretty extreme.
